My condolences go out to the Klukas family as well. As my mom Connie said below, Mr. Klukas always had a helping hand to offer. He is the type of neighbor you hope to have. When we moved into New Brighton from NE Mpls, we were fortunate to have great neighbors: the Harrisons, the MacKenzies, the Klukases, the Johnsons, the Pettits, the Sheridans, and the Schwarzes. I remember Mr. Klukas so dearly. I remember when I first moved into the New Brighton neighborhood as a single widowed mother with four young children who liked switching the lights on and off. Mr. Kluklas noticed it one evening and came over to make sure everything was alright. Later within the last three years, I started to work at the Cub store in New Brighton and I was so happy to see my former dear neighbor as a frequent customer. Arnie was so good us when my father passed away last year. He was one of the romeos (retired old men eating out)along with my dad. We had luch a few times and I will miss him.
