Avis G. Lancaster

Celebration of Life for Avis Glisson Lancaster 88 is set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Brush Creek Baptist Church with her great grandson Bro. Cody Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

She died May 18, 2017 at her residence with her family. She was born January 20, 1929 in Alcorn Co. to the late Stanley and Birdie Glisson. She was a long time member of Brush Creek Baptist Church, retired from Magnolia Regional Health center, before that she had worked at ITT for 15 ½ years. She enjoyed sitting on her porch, tending her flowers and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Lancaster; parents; sisters, Gladys Shultz and Bonnie Glisson; brother, Archie Glisson; and son-in law Billy Wayne Spencer.

She is survived by her daughter Deleace Spencer; grandchildren Rhonda (Kerry) Cummings, Tasha (Jody) Weaver; great grandchildren Bro. Cody Hill and Brooke (James) Wilson; host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers Kevin Glisson, W.C. Smith, James Wilson, Josh Bright.

Family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home and Saturday from 9:00 to service time at Brush Creek Baptist Church.
