Blake Harrison

HARRISON, Blake Sergeant (Reserve Class A) - 54, of Dartmouth, passed away July 12, 2010, in VG Site, QEII. Born in Blind River, Ont., he was the son of Marion (Blake) and the late Robert Norman Harrison. Blake was a Reiki Master, he enjoyed playing darts and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Caen Branch 164. Blake served in the military as an Avionics Technician throughout his career until retiring, he then taught avionics, then worked as a FIN coordinator with 12 AMS Shearwater until he became ill. He volunteered many hours for the Salvation Army Kettle Drives and also in earlier years with their food banks. Blake was loyal, compassionate, dedicated and always gave without expecting anything in return. He had an aptitude for electronics and mechanics. He is survived by his soulmate, Suzzann Hennigar; son, Timothy (Sue-Ann); daughter, Alicia Walsh, both of Dartmouth; and Melissa (Cory) Walsh, Halifax; brothers Kirk, Vancouver, B.C.; Barney (Robin) of Richmond, B.C.; sisters, Patricia (Eldon) Saunders, Lewisporte, N.L.; and Darlene Collette, Brampton, ON; eight grandchildren; one godchild; several nieces and nephews, including special niece Eva Lethbridge; and a longtime friend Kevin Freake. Visitation will be held today 6-8 p.m., 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, with a legion service at 6 p.m. all in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Friday in St. Michaels Chapel (CFB Shearwater), Father Michael Conteh officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Family Flowers only.
