“Ellis Family -
Carter always had such a warm and welcoming smile on his face every time I saw him...a smile I am sure you are missing. The obituary was beautifully written, it really captures his character and passion. I am confident he and John are together, cruising around heaven in one of his many cars! My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
“Ellis Family -
I cannot think of a happier person who knew how to enjoy life. I am so very sorry to learn of his passing.
I pray for you and your family.
“Norma, Carter was definitly his own person. He so reminded me of my own father, the true since of head od household. Rember you 2 in his convertable in Minneapolis on 5th ave. You we blessed to have your true love all those years. May God continue to bless you and your family. Love from the other grandmother, Circe James.
“Carter was always such a joy to see at the Star Tribune. I will always remember his 'pep in his step' whenever he was coming to or leaving work. I would get a smile out of him when I would ask what car he was driving.
Norma, you & Carter were truly a wonderful couple, and it was a pleasure getting to know you both.
God bless you and your family,
“I was stunned to hear of CARTER'S passing. We have stayed in touch since he retired 10 years ago, and our conversations were always exciting, passionate and wonderful. I just spoke to Carter about two months ago and things seemed fine and all was well.
CARTER was the best, always cheerful and always looking for the positive. YOU ALWAYS WALKED WITH CARTER when there was a problem or issue. He never made you feel inferior or "mister know-it -all." I think that is why I...
Norma, Clayton, Cara and Carter

I hit it off for a number of reasons with Carter we both have many of the same passions in regards to cars we talked about the muscle cars and...
“Norma and the Ellis family;
Please accept my condolences in the time of loss. Carter was such a bright light in many lives. I worked in Automotive at the STRIB and he seemed to bounce on air, was such a snappy dresser and man of class. As many have mentioned..he took time out to mentor or help in any way that he could. He was passionate and funny..quick with a smile. I loved working with him when I did and will always remember his kind words and smile. May God Bless you and keep you in...
“Dearest Norma & family,
My sincere condolences to each one of you. I will always remember a different car in your driveway when I would stop over to visit for a while with Amy and Janey Samsal. My daughter, Kristin Severson Buller and Cara had many fun times together growing up. Carter was always so sweet to me when I would be at your home. Thank you for your wonderful friendship through the years. My deepest sympathy to you and your lovely family. I just lost my twin...
