“Charlie, this just proves the Journey is short. You are going to be missed by many! You always lit up a room when you walked in. May GOD bless your family & help all who knew you through this time. Sue Stokes Stringfield
“I worked with Betty years ago, and I remember coming to Charlie's vacuum cleaner shop to pick up parts, when my father was living. Just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
“Lion Charlie is still remembered by my young grand daughter who saw him the day he cut off his long hair for "locks for love". She was about 12 and she was so impressed with the before and after photos. Lion Charlie was a wonderful man. I will miss him at our Lions gatherings. I will remember him at our annual Memorial Service at our State Convention. The thoughts and prayers go out to Lion Betty from the Rivanna Lions Club as well army wife and I.
1st Vice District...
“A fine man who was always willing to smile, speak or say a kind word. I worked with Betty many years ago. Bless you at this time of sorrow.
