Guest Book

Dear Anne, Martha, and Shuford,

I was saddened to hear and read of your
good father's passing away. I was priviledged to know him, your mother and all of you as neighbors and to be
allowed to watch you grow-up.

My health problems prevent my attending
the services for him. You are all in my
prayers.

Was Claude Jr. Father Claude Sr. have a horse farm on 10th St. PL NW...in the Hillcrest Section..All I remember them as Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy...I did not know Mrs. Abernathy first name...I rode his horses growing up and rode in the parades downtown Hickory on "Smokey Joe"...Claude Jr. looks just like SR...But I believe he had a daughter who lived in Texas...So it my not be the same one...but I was just curious....Sorry for your loss...

Mr. Abernethy was great friend of mine, as was his father, my scout master. Claude Jr. got me in the securities business, and I will always be grateful of his help and guidance. He will be missed by me and many. Love and sympathy to his family.

Sympathy to the family.

May you find comfort in knowing that your father is now at peace with our loving God. He has set forth a great example for many to follow. May God bless each of you in this time of sorrow.

Mr Abernethy touched so many lives in such a wonderful way. Your family is in our prayers during this difficult time. My God fill your hearts with comfort.
