Sorry to hear about Dale's passing.. Many Memories from Trenton, MI Jim Holden

Dale was my dissertation chair many (many) years ago and I will never forget his challenges (thinking thinking thinking) and his steadfast encouragement. Just a few months ago I emailed him to let him know I'd drawn yet again on the work of Sarason for a conference paper and he emailed back the kindest friendliest note. I will miss his presence but won't forget the many gifts of learning and spirit he offered.

I had Dr. Brubaker during my first semester as a doctoral student at UNCG. He was a gifted professor and wonderful mentor. I will miss his warmth, his compassion, and his intellectual curiosity.

Dale was one of my favorite people. His visits to my dental office were more like a visit from my next door neighbor. I enjoyed conversing with him about his success on the tennis courts especially the senior tournaments. My sympathy to all of his extended family.

Dale was one of those professors who pushed doctoral students to think "outside the box" and who facilitated just enough discomfort in the learning process to make one question his knowledge in such a way as to generate enhanced and better understandings of information and knowledge. I always will treasure Dale as a professor and as my doctoral dissertation chair, and I feel most fortunate to have known this man whose smile lit up the world. Hopefully, the memories will helps ease...

Dale Brubaker was a guiding light for many students for many years. I will keep my memories of him close to my heart. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Michael, peace and solace to you and yours on the passage of such a gift of a man.

Dale was a wonderful friend and colleague in the School of Education for over 16 years. He modeled tolerance, compassion, humor, and integrity for me as I began my career. I will miss him greatly.

As a father, Dale was a role model who loved, supported and accepted all his children.
