Dear Mary and family, Dave was an inspiration to me as a mentor at church, and as Explorer Post 1 leader. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Mary, Jim, Nancy, John and Mark,
My condolences on Dave's passing. He inspired us all to try and do our best for ourselves and our community.

I was one of the "kids" touched by Dave thorough Explorers and swimming/diving. I could never say enough things to others about him and looked forward to seeing him anytime I was back in Middletown. He was a true friend to my family and I will personally miss him. The community has lost a great man. My heart and thoughts go to the entire Enochs family

I only lived for a year and a half in Middletown before I graduated from MHS (in 1962) but in that time I think Dave Enochs and the Explorer Scouts provided some of the best memories I have of my high school years. I always felt he was completely on my side, which is pretty much the definition of a real friend. When I came back to Middletown for a visit after my 3rd year of college and told him I had decided to apply for grad school in philosophy he was a bit taken aback, I think. But he gave...

Those of us lucky enough to know and love Dave, are a little better because of it. Forever in our hearts, he will be missed.

I was saddened to hear of Dave Enochs death. But I smiled when I thought of his good humor and gifts of himself that he made to all of us. I smiled even broader as I remember how Mike Johnson pronounced his name (which I and others Explorers in the '63-'65 era copied): EEE-noches (the "noches" pronounced as Spanish for night). Dave was a good and caring man who influenced all of us for the better (and our betterment). Dave, Doc Johnson, and our Explorer trips and activities are...

Dear Enochs Family,

I am deeply saddened to hear of Dave's passing. He always seemed larger than life to me and I find myself somehow surprised by the realization that he is no longer here. The world seems just a little bit smaller for his absence. Dave was second only to my father as an influence in my life. I admired them each as individuals, but I think I equally admired the example of their lifelong friendship. More than any others I have known, they lived their faith, leading...

Dave was a great leader and inspiration to us Explorers. Always remember the ski trips and he and Doc Johnson keeping tabs on Ortman, Mishley and me.Last time I saw him at Wildwood, he wanted to come to Hawaii and surf with me. Thank you for giving me the courage to "go for it".

Thank you for never judging us and for encouraging us to the "right thing" throughout life.

Dave's Obituary

News Death NoticeENOCHS, Dave Louis L'Amour said, "To die is nothing. One is here, one is no longer here. It is only at the end one must be able to say 'I was a man'." Dave Enochs can say this with ease and conviction throughout his life. Although some may not believe it, Dave...
