David Armstrong Kelly PhD. David Armstrong Kelly entered into Eternal Life on Tuedsay, February 5, 2013, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Riverside, California. David was born on September 26, 1929, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Dr. David Wright Kelly and Estelle Kennedy Kelly. He graduated from Culpeper High School in 1946 and St. Christopher's Prep School in 1948. He earned a BA at the University of North Carolina, an MS at George Washington University, and a PhD at the University of Southern California. David joined the United States Marine Corps and became an aviator. He served many tours in that capacity, including two tours in Vietnam as a fighter pilot. He served 29 years in the Corps, retiring as a Colonel. His succeeding careers included working at the USMC Development Center in Quantico, Virginia, Northrop Grumman (aerospace) Corporation in Saudi Arabia and California. From 1990 until 2006, he owned and operated Empire Quality Services, an ISO 9001/AS9100 quality auditing firm. During and after his multiple careers, he traveled to all seven continents. He married Patsy Ruth Anderson in 1952. That marriage included two children, Patrick Scott Kelly and Michelle Kelly Bentley. His second marriage in 1981 to Beverly Anne Finch included their son, Stefan Phillip Kelly, children, Michael Kevin Finch and Laurie Lynne Finch. In addition to his wife and children, survivors include his sister, Frances Wright Johnson; nephew, David Johnson; and niece, Nancy Johnson; and many friends in Culpeper and Riverside, who will forever remember and miss him.
