Not sure what to say?

I'm sadly finding this very sad news out a little over a year later. Infact just today. Mr.Hubbard was a trombone mentor to me. My Mother had a friend that knew him and she set it up for me to have lessons with Mr.Hubbard when I was in high school at Campolindo. I was so excited the man that played for Charles Brown is what I was told and I couldn't wait to meet him how exciting it was for me. He inspired me and taught me so much. I'm honestly speechless when I went to look him up this is...

-This is such sad news...

Dean and I were musicians in the Youth of America band all the way back in 1968 and our life in music continued until now...

I'm missing you and all the time I would expect us together
dear friend...

Shocking news...he defined humor...great player...great conversationalist...great Bohemian friend.

Say Hello to Everyone up in Heaven for me. You will be missed. We will all meet again I am sure of it. Look in on Connie every day. I am sure she will feel your presence.

You will be greatly missed .It is a shock to hear you are gone. Remembering -the plays and musicals. Sorry I gave the band the measles's. My hear feels heavy ; too many are gone.

A great guy, wonderful musician to hear and to play with. He made me laugh many times with his broad sense of humor. His playing was amazingly smooth, really intelligent and creative, relaxed but always interesting and carefully crafted. Will miss him.

I played many a gig with Dean over the years, and everything you hear about Dean was, and is, true. He was a one-of-a-kind conversationalist, you felt listened to, and he made you feel welcomed to the conversation, and always has some humor at the ready. And he could play. There's some young musicians that won't get a chance to converse with a man like Dean Hubbard, it's now our job to do. Thank you, Dean. May your family feel our love for you through these messages.

Rest in peace Dean
