Edward Thomas Hickman, Jr., 74, husband of Marlene L. Hickman of Assawoman, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at his residence. Born July 14, 1937 in Temperanceville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Edward Thomas Hickman, Sr. and Vesta Hickman. He retired from Moore Business Forms, Inc., Snow Hill, Maryland, as a press operator. Mr. Hickman served his country in the United States Air Force and the National Guard. He was a member of Wattsville United Methodist Church, Wattsville, Virginia. He was also a member of Temperanceville Lodge #121 AF & AM; Order of the Eastern Star, Temperanceville Chapter; and The Elks Club of Pocomoke, Maryland. Other than his wife, Ed Tom is survived by a son, E.T. Hickman III and his wife Tammy, of Nelsonia, Virginia; a daughter, Rae Ann Crumb and her husband, Warner of Onancock, Virginia; five grandsons, Matthew Klepper, Hunter Hickman, Nathan Crumb, Jared Crumb and Ryan Crumb; a sister, Janet Donoway of Salisbury, Maryland; several nieces and nephews; and a host of many dear friends. He was predeceased by three sisters, Betty Ann Brittingham, Billie Rose Bailey and Pauline A. Dolan. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home, Parksley, Virginia, on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at 2:00 PM with the Reverends Maurice Enright and Donald Blagg officiating. Interment will follow at the Assawoman Methodist Church Cemetery, Assawoman. There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Personal Touch Homecare and Hospice, 3100 Main Street, Exmore, VA 23350.
