Edmund E. ?Ed? Doherty Jr, of Carver formerly of Braintree and Plymouth, died suddenly on February 3rd at the age of 43. Survived by his beloved wife Tracey (Martin) of Carver and his 2 cherished sons Edmund Paul Doherty and Ian Thomas Doherty both of Carver. He also leaves his 4 sisters Mary Kendzierski of Plymouth, Elizabeth Doherty of Quincy, Kathleen Pendoley of Halifax and Christine Powers of Plymouth and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born in Boston, Ed graduated from Braintree High School and UMass Boston and was an accountant at Loomis Sayles. He served in the U.S Army in Kuwait and during the Gulf War. Ed was a sports fan especially the Patriots and the Red Sox, though his greatest joy was spending time with his 2 sons and making people laugh.A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 8th at St. Bonaventure?s Church in Plymouth at 10 AM followed by burial at Lakenham Cemetery in Carver. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 7th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) from 2 to 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Doherty Childrens College Fund, C/O Sovereign Bank, 715 State Rd, Plymouth, MA 02360.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed for a couple of years - his honesty, work ethic, and sense of humor will be missed greatly. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." I am shocked to hear of Ed's passing. I worked with him at State Street Bank for a few years and enjoyed his company very much. Ed had a great sense of humor and we had countless laughs together. Tracy , you and your boys will be in our thoughts and prayers. Ed was a great guy and will be missed terribly.
