Not sure what to say?

I was a student of Dr. Henderson's in the 1970's at MIT. She was a mentor in many ways, and as one of the few women in science, had a profound influence on me. My very belated condolences to her family.

Ellen was a powerful force in my academic life at Georgetown. She was brilliant, thoughtful and caring. She knew how to navigate the halls of academe to provide her students and colleagues with the best advice. May she Rest In Peace.

I was Ellen Henderson's student in the nineties, first in Cell Biology and then in Science and Public Policy. I treasure these classes and my conversations with her. They motivated me to become an academic scientist and continue to be a source of insight. To me, she is a model of authenticity, wisdom, and warmth. My thoughts are with her loved ones.

Ellen awed me with her brilliance and sensitivity about issues and resolution. Ellen taught me about new ways of thinking about my colleagues. Devastated by the death of a great friend whom we were privileged to know since 1969 and spent wonderful times with in Scotland, England and USA. May her spirit rest in peace somewhere in her beloved mountains.

Aunt Ellen was an inspiration to us. She achieved so much during her life. We will miss her.

Ellen was a brilliant scientist, a caring teacher and a dynamic leader. I was privileged to have learned from her.

Ellen was a great mentor and friend. She'll be sorely missed.

To have known you would have been an honor. We are blessed to hear stores of your adventures, through your sister Julia. Condolences to the Heard Family.
