A VIRTUOUS WOMAN OF GOD, ELSIE MAHALA WILSON was born on April 4,1929, to Lonnie and Lonia Fleming in Pactolus, North Carolina.
She received her education in North Carolina school systems, and she married her husband Walter Wilson at early age.
She was the seventh child of 17 children, leaving two surviving siblings Hattie Whitley, Samuel Fleming- (sis in law Paulette) and sis-in law Etta Fleming.
Elsie was saved at a very early age and never turned back. She became an Evangelist where she focused on spreading the gospel and winning souls.
She wore many hats and put a lot of love in what she did such as; being a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, a Personal hairdresser, Seamstress, Gardener, Counselor, Mother of the church and Vice president of the women’s convention. She also helped at the church with feeding the homeless and distributing food. She loved to cook for her family (she may take a while, but everyone enjoyed it, especially her husband).
She worked as a seamstress for many years and then pursued the life of a Private Duty Nurse. When she decided to retire, she took on a receptionist job at Riley’s Salon of Beauty. Elsie just couldn’t be a receptionist; she was a prayer warrior and had the gift of healing.
Elsie leaves to cherish her loving and devoted husband Walter Wilson. (Waller) is what she called him, and he always answered with pride! They were married for 75 years and out of the union, there were 7 children- Louis (Lou), Lester, Vester, Walter Jr. (Bow), Anthony (Earl), Esther (Bobby), and Theresa-(son Cliff). A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and her church family. To know her was to love her!
Everywhere she went she touched lives; people were always drawn to her.
