Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathies on Gene's passing. I first met him and Eileen back in 1980 when I was working for Olympia Snowe's campaign. They were wonderful, warm, kind people and I thoroughly enjoyed knowing them over the years. Gene was the ideal of a public servant -- a true gentleman. I last saw them at a "Welcome Back Day" at the State House when I was Senate President, and it was terrific to welcome them to my office and share lunch with them in the Hall of Flags. They lived a...

So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I was looking forward to talking with him about his wonderful knowledge and history of the area and the sweet story of how he and his charming wife met. I will miss having him as a neighbor as I get ready to come home to Orland. Always a good neighbor as he helped keep my grass mowed in my absence and called from time to time to keep me posted. I had hoped to be of help to him in the coming years. Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten. My deepest...

Lynette, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. Now he is back with your mom, where his heart was longing to be, I'm certain. He was a charmer, that man! May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Genes passing. I served in the Maine Leglislature with him for many years as a member of the opposite party. He was the ultimate gentleman and always so kind to everyone. Maine was served well with his tenure in Augusta.

Eugenia, so sorry to hear of the loss of your father.

Mr. Churchill, as my children refer to him, has already been missed in our little neighborhood. One could feel the absence over the winter when he wasn't out shoveling his driveway or over the summer when tending his beautiful rose bush.
We are forever thankful for his and Mrs. Churchill's warm welcome to the neighborhood when we moved here four years ago. They will not be forgotten in this household nor their fantastic stories about Orland Village.
