Eva S. Garza

Eva S. Garza, 87, of Greeley, died Friday, February 28, 2019 at Kenton Manor. She was born on January 18, 1932 in San Benito, Texas to Jose Saldaña and Adela Alcocer.

Eva was reared and educated in San Benito, Texas. On March 17, 1948, she married Manuel Garza, Jr. in San Benito. He died February 15, 2019. They had been married for almost 71 years. After their marriage, they came to Colorado, where Eva lived the majority of her life and raised 8 children and 1 grand-daughter.

Eva loved jewelry, shopping, spending time with her family and dogs. She enjoyed cooking traditional Mexican food and her specialty was tamales for her family. She enjoyed dancing, visiting and barbequing with her family in Texas.

Eva is survived by her daughters, Graciela Martinez (Daniel) of Ault and Sandra Benavidez and Brenda Archuleta both of Greeley; sons, Jose Manuel Garza of Evans, Michael Garza of Johnstown and Ricardo Garza of Estes Park; Grand-daughter Michelle Hykes of Greeley, sister, Ida Castillo-Lopez of Eagle Pass, Texas; brother, Noe Saldaña (Teresa) of Uvalde, Texas; sister-in-law, Socorro Saldaña of Brownsville, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Manuel Garza Jr., father, Jose Saldaña, mother, Adela Saldana Castillo; daughter, Patricia Alvarez, daughter-in-law, Patti Garza; son, Alfredo Garza, son-in-law, Salome Alvarez and brother, Adan A. Saldaña.

Visitation 10-11 a.m. followed by a Liturgical service Monday, March 18, 2019 both at Stoddard Funeral Home followed by a reception at Victory Outreach Church 2626 11th Ave Unit B, Greeley, CO 80631.
