To my Nieces Jackie and Jody:
I share your grief at the loss of your father. Chief (to me, “Floyd”, as I knew him from days on the farm) was more than a brother-in-law; to me, he was my older brother. As a young man on Dad's farm, I recall the many days I spent together with Floyd, days of work and fun. In the fall, we would go hunting for pheasants in the cornfields, and pick black walnuts off of Dad's treasure of black walnut trees. In late summer, during threshing season, we...
