Dear Callie and family, I am so sorry about Gladys. I know how hard it can be to lose a parent. That person who has known you since birth and always provides that unconditional love, no matter what. Hope you know how much your mom mom loved you and appreciated all your support, love and care. She would share all these wonderful thoughts about you during my annual summer visits to see her. I remember hanging out at your house with you and John, playing pool and chatting with your folks....

Great Aunt Gladys, I have cherished a very nice visit to Maine many years ago with my beloved Grandmother and your Sister. I always enjoyed the family time/visits in Vermont.You are a wonderful person that will also be greatly missed. So many angels watching over us xoxo. Gladys showed me the ropes as her replacement as office manager in Bangor in the 70's. She was a strong lady and loved by all who knew her. Rest in Peace, Gladys.

I feel sad, but wonderful memories of Gladys keep flooding back to me, making me smile. I called her "Ma" and Lee, "Pa", during that difficult time back in 1971 when my own parents were not able to pay much attention to their kids. Ma & Pa Barrett were there for me when I needed it most, even taking me into their home for three months.
