Mr. Larsen was an incredible and passionate music teacher at Blake. I would not have enjoyed being in the choir if it wasn't for him. He will always be in my heart and proud to have been his student.

Greg was a thoroughly *passionate* teacher of music. I fondly recall his music classes at Blake as being some of the most animated (and fun) of my time there. His infectious love of music led me into music as well at Juilliard, where he and I later worked on several choral pieces for him and his choir. What a fine musician - and sad to read of his passing. He doubtless passed on his gift, his love of music to many, many others.

Dear Laurie and family,
I am so sorry for your loss Laurie. I remember Greg and you from our choir days at St. James in Mpls. I am Gladys Lamb Herndon, and I live in AZ. I wrote Greg a number of years ago and told him that he was always an inspiration to me and he was the one responsible for my getting a BA in music education from Winona State College in 1973. I have known Greg since I was 14 years old. I don't know if you remember me and my family, but we lived almost across the...

Greg brought beautiful music and good humor to the students and staff at Black Hawk Middle School. His smile and distinctive quips always brightened our days!

Greg was a wonder friend, co-worker and educator. He could get kids to sing even when they thought that they weren't singers. We had a running joke about our organs. ( former organist as well)

Outstanding teacher and colleague. At Black Hawk Middle School, we'll always remember Mr. Larson's catch-phrase when asked how he was doing: "I think we'll make it through!" We'll remember him always.

Greg was well known for his whimsical "I think we're gonna make it through..." comment that brought a light hearted sense to our most difficult days in the middle school. He was truly a beacon for positive energy and professionalism.
