Not sure what to say?

I only met Gene once, but he was wonderful, the quintessential southern gentleman. My heart goes out to Elaine. She adored him and their lives were intertwined as great loves are.

My thoughts and prayers go to the Adkinson family.

My sincerest sympathy to the whole Adkinson Family, but especially to Elaine, Gene's wife of 24 years. She kept him smiling and took wonderful care of him. Their's was a love story.

They just sparkled in each other's eyes.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your
family during this difficult time. God Bless You. Richard and Shirley Hazel of Dothan

What can i say? Daddy Gene was a wonderful person, He was the Grandfather to my three kids, and two others. He was always so thoughtful and caring. We could of been alot more like him. we will always remember him with love .... we love you Daddy Gene,
Laney , Bryan, Rochelle, Mea, Tiffany and Christopher

Gene also has five Grandkids who wasn't able to be with their Grandfather because of the distance but that didn't keep them from loving their Grandfather. He was a wonderful man and he will be missed by all of us . These grandkids came from a previous marriage to former wife Joan Adkinson Guild of Dallas Texas... The mother of Keith and Kevin.

Gene and I were good friends back in our college years. I used to spend summers in Miami, and we had many good times together. I still remember sitting with Gene and Wade Buff (who were the 'Gator Duo' then) writing and rewriting the words to "It's Almost Tomorrow" which later became a Top Ten song both in the US and Great Britain in 1956.
