HAP WAS CERTAINLY A DEDICATED SERVANT OF THE CITY OF DANVILLE. HE WILL BE MISSED.
JAMES R. SAUL

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.

The officers and members of Danville Elks Lodge #227 wish to express our deepest sympathy to the Slayton family. Happy was a Past Exalted Ruler of our lodge, and he will be missed greatly.

This "Son of The Commonwealth" made a huge imprint on our city, state and nation. "Happy" was just that, always happy. In 1990 when I was President of the Shrine Club, I had the privilege of working with "Happy" on funding for the Dan Daniel Park. He made the impossible possible."Happy" will be greatly missed.

Happy was such a wonderful man and great friend. I had the privilege of knowing him for many years. Like some city officials have said, when you needed help or advice on a project, Happy was the one you would call and he was always there to help. He will be missed by all who knew him

I had the honor of serving with this fine leader in the early 60's and along with business while he was at the bank. I also was privileged to know his father and brother. He was one fine gentleman in every way. James Rich
