“We extend our deepest sympathies to you. Hershell was a bright light in the Kings Park Community. He brought love, joy, kindness, and goodness to every resident. His example set the bar high for all of us. Hershell made each one of us feel as if we were the most important person in the world. He knew the names of every member of our families, and he took the time to get to know us. He genuinely cared about each one of us, and he expressed that daily. As friends do, he also shared his...
“Our sympathy and condolences go out to the Edmonds family. Hershell was a wonderful man. He made a difference in our lives by his example. Every so often in life, you meet someone that you want to emulate in one respect or another. Hershell reminded us by his example that we have great power within us. Every one of us. With a cheerful greeting, a kind word, a friendly pat on the shoulder, we can make someone feel good, maybe take away their cares, if even for a minute. God made us to...
“Everyone who knew Hershell in Kings Park knew him as a friend and a good listener. He would always take time to chase Nathan in the yard carrying his mail bag. He would always shake our hand and ask how we were feeling that day. He was a wonderful man who spoke highly of his sons, his love of going to the country to hunt, and his dear Dad. Our hope is in Christ that we will see him once again. Please accept our sympathy.
“In loving memory of a wonderful person who was always friendly & had a smile on his face always. He was such a great part of our community. He will be greatly missed. May the Lord comfort you when your heart misses Hershell and bring you peace as you celebrate his life.

I guess there were other Kings Park mailmen, - but in 40 years living there, you're the only one I remember! You were kind, cheerful, comforting and discreet - our friend. You were loved and respected in Kings Park.
Terry, Julie, Jean and Brendan, join me in sending condolences to the Edmonds family, thanking the for sharing you. I love that someone said, "maybe he was an angel in disguise".
