I knew Mr. Donati from Thalhimers, where I worked in Men's Furnishings. Our love of opera and theatre kept us in many conversations overs the years. I never knew a nicer person, so helpful and kind. May he rest in peace.

I met "Bootsie" as he was a frequent movie goer at the screenings I helped to host. He was such a nice, polite, and very funny gentleman. I will miss him at the screenings and my thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time of their loss.

I knew Bootsie from the many many movie screenings he attended over the last decade. He always had a kind word, and ever the gentleman, did not enjoy the films with a lot of curse words! He also remarkably always remembered my wedding anniversary as he knew my husband and I as a couple before we were married. I was at a movie screening last night and was so sad to hear of his passing. He would have enjoyed this was a good, "clean" film. Rest in peace, Bootsie. My sympathy...

I worked with Mr. Donati at Thalhimers. We shared a love of opera and theatre. He probably had one of the best opera collections in Richmond. He often spent much too long talking at the toll booth of RMA where he collected tolls. He was truly one of Richmond's characters. I will miss him.

Bootsie was such a good, good friend to my great-aunt, Emily Wiley, who died last fall, and she thought the world of him. My condolences.

I am Humberts brother. The last few mounths of his life he suffered very much. I sit by his bed for a few hours and I can tell you before he passed he was at complete rest. He looked like he was just sleep;ing. My brother had a wonderful life. If GOD wants to know anything about opera, Broadway are movies, Bootsie can help him.
