Idella Thomas Obituary
It is with deep submission to the sovereignty of God that the Thomas family announces the victorious transition of Mother Idella Woods Thomas, beloved Mother of Mt. Hope Baptist Church. A devoted woman of faith, grace, and strength, Mother Thomas lived a long and blessed life of service for 91 years and was dedicated to her family, church, and community.
Mother Thomas was known for her radiant smile, elegant presence, and unwavering faith in the Lord. She’s inspired many through her steadfast spirit and her heart for others. Her presence in the church and in the lives of those who knew her will forever be cherished.
Official arrangements are as follows:
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Roberts United Methodist Church, 201 Julia Street, Denham Springs, Louisiana. The funeral procession will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
A repast will be held at the Pards L.M. Lockhart Center, 320 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Denham Springs, Louisiana.
As we walk through this season, we do so by drawing strength from our praise and the assurance of our faith. Our hope remains steadfast in the One who holds our beloved mother in His arms.
