“Hope Mills has lost an icon. JC Melvin brought more smiles and laughter to us than anyone in Hope Mills. JC always had a good joke to share and always had a big smile on his face. So many of us depended on JC's service station to keep our cars on the road until he finally retired. Our heartfelt condolences to Sissy & Frankie and the rest of the family.
“Charlie, I know how much you cared for your Grandpa. Now it's time to be strong for your Grandma.
“Uncle JC was such a great and kind man. He will definatly be missed. I will always fondly remember the times i spent with him.
All my love and prayers,
“JB was a wonderful man. He helped me and my family in more ways than one and spoiled my kids everytime he seen them. We will miss you Uncle JB.
“My Prayers are with you all...He will be missed greatly...But as he walks with our father, have the comfort that his passing is only temporary for we shall be with him again.
“The melvin family sorry of your lost he was a great man Rest In Peace
“j.c was always such a loving, caring, gentile man and great dad and family member.my tears and prayers to catherine and frankie.bless yall
“I will miss talking to him on Thursday nights and hug. He was a special person.
Prays are with the family.
“JC has always been there for me. When mom or dad would take me to the station he would buy me a drink out of the vending machine. When I got married to Tim, JC would let Tim use his tools and bay to fix his cars so we would have a ride. When I was with Tony he gave him a job. He treated my kids like they where his grandkids. He gave Timothy and Justin their first cars. He has always been there for me as long as I could remember. We love him and will miss him dearly.
