Steve Miles Funeral Remarks.
The family thanks all of you for joining us to memorialize the life of James Miles.
This is a time when many people act as if their lives are measured by how much they amass. My Dad knew that when the bell tolls, our lives are remembered by their answer to the question, “How has the community been bettered by your sojourn here?

It was a privilege to work with Jim in the early 1970's. His steadfast efforts are one of the main reasons we have a fine Children's hospital today. He even made it to the opening of the Arnold & Rusk Anderson Education Center at children's some months back. It was hard to see such a vital and energetic man slowed so much by his medical issues, but there was still a spark in his eye when we talked. Warmest wishes to all of you.

Papa Roo, I LOVE YOU. Papa Roo, I MISS YOU. YOU WERE MY HERO. You were the most kind, loving, loyal, hard working, ethical, intelligent, caring, funny, generous, wonderful, forward-thinking-yet-old-fashioned, community-spirited, amazing person I have ever known. Thank you for being the best dad in the whole world. Know that we will take good care of mom, your loyal, loving partner of 63 years who is missing you, the LOVE of her life, very deeply. My LOVE and RESPECT for YOU will never...
