Not sure what to say?

Great man, tough and great Middie Coach, I remember he had a solid stomach- always challenging you to take a swing. Couldn't budge the coach. He will truly be missed.
My condolence to the family, my prayers are sent forth for your comfort.
Class of "83"

Sorry for the great loss to your Family, He was truly a great, humble and kind hearted man. He will be missed a lot.

Sincerly,

I, too, graduated from MHS in 1970 and remember Mr. Shafor fondly as both a fine educator and a decent man. In addition, my mother, Nancy Goodlett, worked with him at the high school for many years and always spoke of him with great affection and respect. Since she is not able to speak for herself, I am glad to do so for. RIP, Mr. Shafor.

Dear Shafor family,
I went to Saint Mary's grade school for 8 years. Jim was my seventh grade teacher and the first non-nun I ever had! He was wonderful. I remember him as strict but fair and very caring. I always had trouble with math, and Jim spent extra time with me after school, which I appreciated. A few years ago I attempted to find him so that I could tell him that. I mailed a letter to an address I had been given but never heard back. I sure hope he received it but, even...

I will always remember those powerful hands mr Shafor had. When he grabbed you in the hallway you always knew who had a hold of ya. A fine man. He will be missed and remembered.

We are sorry for the loss of your Father & Brother. We were lucky enough to visit with him last October at the Class of 1951 High School Reunion. Our sympathy to the Family.

I will remember you in my heart always. Meritta Shafor Eby your God-Child.

To The James J. Shafor Family,

I'm a 1970 graduate of Middletown High School. The one thing that I remember most about Mr. Shafor from school was that he always had time for any student. He always treated me with reapect, which I greatly appreciated. He always remembered my name and later in life told me to call him Jim brcause we were now friends. He definitely had a positive impact on my life. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
