“Jim was a memory from my youth. Never knew him in his professional life but took pride in knowing both Jim and Nell, all having roots in small town of Millry, Alabama. Both were fine people to remember.

“Mr. Tucker was an amazing man, awesome principal, and a true example of how a person should live their life for everyone to have remarkable respect for him. My Dad drove the bus for over 25 years for Brewer High School and he thought that Mr. Tucker "hung the moon."
God Bless the James Roy Tucker SR family!

You were such a great man and a fantastic principal. I remember how you made sure the school always stayed so clean. That meant a lot to us students. You instilled that Brewer Pride in each of us! “In 1962 when several smaller schools were consolidated to form Dale County High School, a special person was needed to bring about cohesion for the students. James Tucker was that man and he brought it about with great finesse, with Nell always at his side. I'm thankful for the impact he had on my early life. He taught volumes just by example.
“Mr. Tucker was a great man. He had the highest integrity, character, and moral value. He and his family had tremendous influence on my life as a teenager. Our prayers are with Faye, Roy, and their families.
