Jean was a true giant in the history of UofR Law School. She was a friend to all of her students and the key to the success for most of us. I saw her last year at the Fall Gathering. I thank God that I got to hug her one more time and tell her how much she meant to me. I will miss her tremendously. God bless you all. I know you will feel her loss terribly.

I add my name to the many, many people who owe their legal careers to Ms. Tarpley. I have thought fondly of her many times over the years.

I transferred to T.C. Williams the Fall of 1979. She made me feel welcomed. She was a nice person. When I think of UR I think of Jean Tarpley.

Brittney,
We never had the privilege of meeting your grandmother. But I know from Garrett's stories that she was a very special woman and he thought of her as Grandma Jean. We are sorry for your loss and have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I remember her mainly because she would always introduce herself to me at family occassions.

Amy...Your mother was an exceptional lady and we loved her very much. We share in your grief but we do rejoice in our hope...glennon and betty balser

Amy, my deepest sympathy to you & your family, Jim & Jean took me into their home for a while, and treated me better than anyone could hope. I have such fond memories of you all. Thinking of you with prayers for you and the girls.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Miss Jean was such a beautiful lady. I only knew her for a short time, but it made a huge impact on me. God bless her and i feel fortunate to have known her.
