Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of being Joel's roomate for almost two years as we served together in Hawaii. I will always remember him as a loyal, honest person, and most importantly a great friend. We took on skydiving together and I can honestly say that it wouldn't have been as fun or memorable without him. I'll never forget him, and all that loved him should be at ease knowing that he is in a better place. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I had the privilege of knowing "Bruddah" Joel b/w 2004-2006 in Hawaii. He would always speak highly of his family and friends back home in MN. I feel like I know them very well, eventhough I haven't met them all. Joel loved his brothers and sisters more than anything in the world. He cherished the time spent together when they visited him in Hawaii. I will always remember his youthful, playful, and inspiring spirit that managed to touch my heart and soul. 'Till we meet again,...

I knew Joel since he started working at McDonalds. I didn't know him very well until he started dating my sister Nikki. He was very good to her and we all really liked him. Even after Joel and Nikki weren't together anymore, I would still hang out with the two of them. That's just the type of person Joel was. You could feel comfortable around him and have a good time. I had just hung out with Joel and Nikki not to long before he died. He made us laugh until our stomaches hurt. It was great....

Although I only knew Joel for a short time, it seems as if we had been friends forever. Joel and I shared the same sense of humor, interests in politics and paintball, as well as an appreciation for a good cup of coffee. I miss him dearly but am comforted knowing that wherever he is laughter and smiles will always be plentiful.

WE
AS A FAMILY TRULY MISS JOEL IT DOESN'T SEEM REAL YET BUT OUR SON MATT
HURTS SO BAD AND WE CAN'T SEEM TO BE OF COMFORT TO HIM. JOEL WAS AS IF
ONE OF OURS. MATT AND JOEL WERE BEST FRIENDS FOR SO LONG AND HE WAS
ALWAYS WELCOME IN OUR HOME. SUE AND DENNIS CAN BE PROUD OF THEIR SON HE
WAS ALWAYS WELL MANNERED AND POLITE AND ONE OF OUR FAVORITES. HE AND
MATT HAD THEIR OWN LANGUAGE AND THE TROUBLE THEY EVER GOT INTO WAS GOOD
FUN AND INNOCENT. i ALWAYS ADDRESSED...

Joel was not only my brother, but also my best friend. Eight years of age may have separated us growing up, but the past few have only proven that we are exactly alike in so many ways. Losing him is a painful and life moving event, but I take pride in the great memories I have and the honor of having his character and ambition live on within me. I love and miss you, man.

May God bless you and your family during this difficult time. Joel was a good man and a great friend. He will be truly miss.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Joel will always be remembered for he was a good hearted person, a good friend, and an all around funny guy.
