It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of John's passing. He was a friend to everyone and an inspiration to all. He was so kind to me throughout the various stages of our adolescent and teenage years, and I am forever grateful. I will never forget his kindness and the wonderful person that he was. John, you will be forever missed. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and Andy, I know that you are missing John dearly and I am thinking of you in this time of great sadness. I take a lot of comfort...

I was very sorry to hear of John's passing. John was one of my closest friends in high school and his unique humor and way of seeing things kept me going even when things got rough. He helped me see that there were interesting people out there in the world, and he's one of the people I credit with the wonderful life I have now. And I will always have our cheesy prom pictures to remember him by (he was my prom date). Love and prayers for all of you. Please know that he is remembered.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and Andy, I'm shocked to learn of John's passing and can't imagine your grief. John and I had many fun times together as kids and he was one of my closest friends through high school. His humor and wit were incisive and all I can think of now is how we'd laugh until we were sore. Andy, I remember how he admired you and always wanted to get your attention with some caper...remember playing in your basement in Joliet, and how he tried in vain to help me as I struggled...
