Not sure what to say?

I'm sorry to hear this news. It was a pleasure to see John & Ira show up for exercise and to hear about their travels and ski trips. My deepest sympathy to the family.

MY SINCERE SYMPATHY TO YOU IRA AND YOUR FAMILY. JOHN AND I GREW UP IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD, WENT THRU SCHOOL TOGETHER AND ALSO CONFIRMED TOGETHER. FRIENDS FOR ALMOST 80 YEARS..WHEN I ASKED SOME MUTUAL FRIENDS IF THE HAD READ ABOUT JOHN PASSING THE REPLY ALWAYS WAS "WHAT A NICE GUY". IT IS HARD TO LOSE A FRIEND LIKE JOHN. BILL SCHRAMM

It was an honor and indeed a pleasure to have known John and Ira for the past 29+ years. I am very sad to hear of John's passing. My deep condolonces to Ira, Marla & Wayne for their loss

John was truly a valued friend and co-worker! I knew john and enjoyed our working relationship for many, many years at CDC.
John always brought an element of fun to the task at hand. You could always count on him picking up the pieces and making certain they all fit!
I saw John last at our "CDC Old Timers" lunch a few years back. WE re-hashed several "old" CDC experiences!
Ira, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours! John touched the hearts of many...

I had come to know John via his TV repair business in the early 1960s. A few years later, I hired him into Control Data--Normandale. I vividly recall John shedding a tear when we discussed being adopted (we both were)and how fortunate we were to have our adopted parents. I last saw John at my mother's wake in 1990. A year ago, we 'reunited' over email and shared updates on each of our lives. John was a fine, decent person and my wife Dolores and I extend our sympathy to Ira and family.

I never met John, but enjoyed reading about his radio exploits in the pages of the VHF-UHF Digest of the World FM-TV DX Association. Though we are widely scattered and usually never meet, through the club many of us have become friends. We will all miss John. And our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Please accept my condolences on John's passing. I knew John through the DX hobby and was fortunate enough to meet him in person a couple times. My thoughts are with John's family and friends during this difficult time.

I had a cube across the aisle from John for many years. Fun guy, serious about his work and a true gentleman. Saw him last at the Control Data Old Timers gathering at Mystic Lake a couple years ago. My heartfelt sympathy to the family.

I knew John through the World TV & FM DXing Association, a hobby club. He always submitted detailed reports to our monthly journal, and I was particularly close to him as he was one of the few DX'ers from my area. He will be missed. Requiescat in pace, John.
