Not sure what to say?

I remember as a kid going to picnics with all the relatives in Junie and Johnie's huge back yard in Edina. Uncle Johnie would always be one of the best parts of those parties. I will always remember that all through the years when I saw Great Uncle Johnnie the first thing he would do is give me a compliment. He was a wonderful person.

McCauley Family,
My deepest sympathies on the loss of your Dad. I have extremely fond memories of our family get togethers. I was constantly amazed by the long and close friendship our parents had.

My son Joe and his family live in Bellingham, WA. They adopted two kittens and when I asked what they had named the kittens they said Johnnie and Junie. Two little words that always went together. Johnnie and Junie.

I have known Uncle Johnnie all my life as he was 18 when I was born. Junie and Johnnie were going together at the time and Junie was my Godmother. Uncle Johnnie always made me feel good about myself with his positive attitude. My favorite memories were all the picnics at the McCauleys that were filled with great food, laughter and singing. Happy memories.

One of my best memories is of Uncle John telling my Mother Mary Foster Hanrehan that the only thing he wanted for Christmas was a loaf of her homemade bread. It was the best!

John was an important part of our community. Among his many contributions, he served on the Edina Historical Society Board. But perhaps his greatest accomplishment was his effort to modernize Cahill School in southwest Edina. (Thank him for indoor plumbing!) John made history and we will miss him. - Marci Matson, Executive Director, Edina Historical Society

Kathy and family,

Your Mom and Dad were like my 2nd set of parents! How well I remember the many, many good times I spent at your house! I hold you and your family in my heart and in my prayers! I know how very hard it is to lose a parent and I know the sorrow you must be feeling!

I will remember your Dad with great joy and laughter - he will be missed!

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
