“ We enjoyed being with John at our Blacksmith meets. He always brought something of interest to be auctioned for a fund raiser. I won a Chesnut Bow he turned. We love the bowl and will cherish it even more now that he is no longer with us. He was truly an artist as well as a great person, we will miss him very much.
“I would like to offer my sympathy to Lucy & the Reed family. What a talented & kind person John was. I am so glad to have known him. I know him through his work in the Mason Cove Civic Club. He will be missed.
“Greg, Beth, and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Praying in the days ahead that you find the Lord's strength, comfort, and peace to carry you through this difficult time. Love~
“We were so sadden to learn of your loss. John was such a wonderful man. Tom and I enjoyed so much time spent with such a fine gentleman and friend at the woodturners meetings. We will keep his family in our prayers.
“To the family of John Reed,
I am saddened to learn of the death of this sweet man whom I got to know through my work at the Rescue Mission. He was such a kind and prolific artist, giving of himself many times to beautify the Mission with his lovely and meaningful work. I know the other wood turners in the area miss him a great deal, as so many of them looked up to him. It was a pleasure to know him and to work with him.
God bless you all and know that you are not alone in your...

“So sorry to hear of John's passing. We played together in the orchestra at FBC Roanoke for many years. I still remember his whistling along on other orchestra parts when the sax had long measures of rests.
“We are so sorry for the loss of a beloved father, father-in-law, and grandfather in the Anderson family. We hope faith and favorite memories will sustain you during this difficult time.
We are thinking about our good friends and neighbors.
“Teresa & family - I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for all of you ~
