Not sure what to say?

John, you shared and taught me much over the years, beginning at age 9 with a song "Far, Far Away" (which took me 2 years to realize didn't exist) that you frequently told me to act out while singing so you could spend time with my sister uninterrupted by my pestering. As I grew up, you became like a brother to me, always generous with advice, gentle wisdom and humor. You told me many times you were a rich man, measured by your two sons and five grandchildren ... your time with...

So sorry to hear about John's passing and want to express my condolences to John's family. He was one of the most enjoyable people I ever knew. He was famous for his "bets" with kids for donuts and for always sending Papio Junior High kids on "missions" to the Dairy Queen. I always remember him at Parent Teacher Conferences with a magazine in his grade book while he would visit with parents about students' grades. Just a great guy to work with. You will be missed...

I taught with John several years at PJH. He was a caring and compassionate man and respected by the students and staff. I even"bartered"with John and traded some work for a old orange state pick-up! John will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Mr. V.

I sure enjoyed watching the 180 Street Boys including Casey and others compete in football and other sports at Gretna High. Will cherish the time spent in those grandstands with Big John and at the cabins in Cedar Creek..he was sure fun to be around!

Take Care Vandenroucke Family from the Sweetwoods...

Big John will be missed. From when you first started dating my sister and snatched me up over your head with one hand, my arms and legs flailing, thru life's journey to now, you've always been a great friend, business partner, brother in law and crazy stunt man. I hope we can have a foot race in heaven. Maybe then, I'll have a chance to win!

Casey and Family,
We are so sorry for your loss! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.

To my cousin John,I am sitting here thinking back on our childhood. When as kids we would ask our Grandma Galac if she would makes some roll-ups for breakfast. How we would eat them as fast as we could. Other times I remember of times we would get into trouble and paid for it. Sure will miss you! God Bless the whole Vandenbroucke Family.

Hey Casey and all of Johns loved ones,
It is hard to say Goodbye, however it helps when you know the one you loved will never be forgotten. Let not your Heart be troubled and remember the Good Times. Your Dad was a GREAT MAN and will be missed. It was a good day in my life when I crossed paths with John. I will cherish my friendship with your Dad and you too. The memories are many and will forever be in my Heart. 180 STREET GANG, Uncle Jerry and Aunt Kim
We Love You!

Wishing the Vandenbroucke family much peace and strength during this difficult time. John is a wonderful and amazing man. Many prayers and thoughts for John and the Vandenbroucke family.
