Not sure what to say?

To Alice and family,
So sorry to learn of Joe's death.

My memories of Joe bring a smile to my face. From those years in graduate school at UGA in the late 60's, helping him pack the truck for the move to Cullowhee, NCTM activities in the 70's and 80's, hearing Dodson stories when I came to WCU in the 90's. His legacy and contributions live on.
Carole and I extend our condolences to you and your family.

I knew Joe through the NC Math Teachers organization. I always took the opportunity to attend his sessions at any conference because he left the attendees with great ideas. I always took away something I could use in my classroom. I still have a copy of one of the handouts from a session and it is as true today as it was when he wrote it. I have thought of him over the years and wondered how he was doing. I know you will miss him dearly. My sympathies are with the family.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family. Death is never something we get use to. But know during this time you are not alone. Our Creator promises better days ahead. He will give you the strength needed to get through this difficult time.

Dear Alice and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at thie time.
I am thankful that you and Joe came to WS. Both of you made a tremendous different in the lives of many young students. jim & flo
