Not sure what to say?

I had the good fortune of meeting Joe while assisting SJ and Julie Wind in the days when there was a need for another (assistant) organist/pianist during the 5:30 pm service between the years of 1988 and 1989. Myself, being primarily a pianist was strikingly amazed at Joe's intuitions at improvisation. He opened me up to what can be done with pure impromptus imagination and got me going on it. He humbly told me he once played an entire wedding without music, guided by his own...

It was with profound sadness that I learned of Joe's passing several months ago. We were childhood friends, beginning in grammar school, and then later in junior high and high school (Mission San Jose HS, Class of '67). He was the most gifted of my mother's piano students, and he went on to become an extraordinary organist and pianist. He was a talented and faithful family attorney for over three decades, and he was the most devoted, selfless man of faith that I have ever known--his...

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Joe and I were classmates at Mission San Jose High School........ Class of 1967!
He and I spent hours talking about the Bible. I thought Joe was very gifted especially in public speaking and debate. He fulfilled his destiny as an attorney. With fond memories, I pay tribute to his life. God bless his family and friends in this time of sorrow.

Like many others, I'm sure, my husband and I remember Joe playing the music at our wedding at St. Joseph Church 36 yrs ago this coming December. And every Christmas I put out the pictures with the kids and Santa and among them is one where Joe is the Santa for the kids. We really didn't know him personally, but when we saw him we would always remember our wedding day. God bless you, Joe.

Joe and I had just had a lengthy discussion about the New Cathedral in Oakland!!! He was sooo very passionate about it and encouraged me to go there...I will miss him as a client and as a colleague (ok a friend too!!!)...blessings to his family of whom he always bragged about.

We know where his living now..playing the organ in heaven for our Lord! But he will be missed greatly!

One of the first friends I made when I started attending St. Joseph's. I will always remember Joe's car, packed to overflowing, in the SJ parking lot. I can see you smiling from heaven, dear Joe. My husband and I send our deepest condolences to Lisa and to friends & colleagues alike.

For me, Joe always was Friar Tuck of Robin Hood's Merry Men. As lawyers, we opposed one another and worked together, good friends throughout all the stresses. I miss the next lunch we kept promising to have. My warmest thoughts for his family. Jack Leavitt

Joe was everyone's "big brother". He was present to us all without question, without hesitation. His unconditional love and friendship was his greatest gift to all who knew him. His presnece in our lives was a reassuring factor. We have lost a very important member of our community and St. Joseph church family. As we celebrate Joe's life we hold close to our hearts the happy times, laugther, shared memories, and wisdom that Joe brought into our lives. Shortly after Joe passed on I...
