Julia Kay Severson, a loving daughter, devoted mother, and cherished sister, left this world on February 21, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Born on October 10, 1982, in Albert Lea, Julia was a vibrant force of nature, known for her beautiful smile and her endearing messy bun, a hallmark of her carefree spirit.
In addition to her role as a mother to her children, Drake and Shawnna, Julia was deeply loved by her family and friends. Her personality was a unique blend of love and tenacity, marked by the stubborn streak those closest to her adored. She was the confidant everyone sought in times of need, the one who always had an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on. She approached her life's unique challenges with bravery and a fierce attitude; never backing down from what she believed in.
She is survived by her children Drake Mauer and Shawnna (Christan) Hilger; parents Janet Sward (Gary Sward) and Dan Severson; sisters Jenny Harris, Laurie Severson, Michelle Sward, and Kelly Sward; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
To honor Julia's memory, a celebration of life will be held on April 1, 2025, at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
