Justin J. Florek

On Dec. 25, 2009, we lost our dear Justin in a tragic accident while he was performing routine work duties.

He was born in Longview, April 30, 1984, to James and Susan Florek, where he was raised with his younger brother, David. Justin graduated from Mark Morris High School in 2003.

He met the love of his life, Amber, and married her May 21, 2004. Justin and Amber spent the last five and-a-half years living their lives to the fullest, which included spending time with their family and friends, white water rafting, snowboarding, camping, traveling and door-to-door preaching. One of Justin's favorite hobbies was troubleshooting engine problems with his dad and/or his Grandpa Bub. He also loved to eat brownies and play Phase 10 with his mom, Nanny and Davey.

Justin was known for his sense of humor and love of life. He made everyone around him laugh, even if it meant performing a courageous karaoke song or a daring dance move. While he was known for being such a fun person, he did not let that get in the way of his responsibilities. Justin was very dependable and did everything he could to help out his family, friends and his wife, whom he adored. Anybody who looked at the Florek couple couldn't help being infected by their love for each other; two people, best friends, such a good match.

Justin was baptized Oct. 19, 1996, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. One of his greatest loves was sharing the Bible with others and teaching them about the hope he had for the future found at Matthew 6:10, where it says, "Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth." Justin believed the righteous would inherit the earth in a peaceful new world governed by Jehovah God. We are looking forward to the day when all "those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (Jesus speaking) and come out" to live forever on a paradise earth. (John 5:28, 29)

Amber would like everyone to know how much Justin enjoyed his job at Equa-Chlor, as well as working with his team members. She fully understood his affection for this company when she experienced their willingness to go above and beyond anything she could have expected during this tragedy. The Florek family would like to convey their deepest gratitude to everyone that has been so incredibly supportive in this very unnatural and difficult situation. Along with the employees of Equa-Chlor, Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue played a huge part in finding Justin. We are eternally grateful for the dignity that was shown to him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue.

A memorial service and reception will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Red Lion Hotel in Kelso. All who knew Justin, loved him, or were affected by his life and would like to attend and show their support for the family are warmly invited. Those who wish to view Justin can do so from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory, 5050 Mount Solo Road.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Florek family, I just learned of your terrible loss and am greatly shocked and saddened. I worked with Jim for many years and Justin for a brief time, but long enough to know what an amazing man he is and that he came from great folks. My heart goes out to you all, and to Justins wife. I wish you all some sense of peace in time and all of my love. It seems unfair that the best of us seem to be taken too soon.

Susie- I am so saddened by your loss though I never met him with you as his mother I can only imagine what a truely wonderful son, husband, and nephew he was. God be with you all in this diffucult time.

Dear Amber, Susie, Jim & David,
Our family in the FAITH. I may not know you, but feel your pain in my heart. It saddened us to hear/read about Justin's accident. We pray for you and all who are affected by his death. I only knew of Justin through my niece's ( Stefani) husband, (Blake). Blake used to play basketball with Justin. We know that someday we will be reunited with our dead loved ones, and what an exciting and JOYFUL day that will be! Jehovah has promised it. It will be our...

My deepest sympathy go out the Florek Family. Our prayers go out to you and yours in this trying time.

Dear James, Susan, David and Amber
I was never able to meet Justin, but I attended Mark Morris with David. Having an older brother myself, I cant imagine the feelings he must be going through. Please stay strong for one another, and know my heart goes out to all of you! wish I could of made it to the memorial, from what I have read he would of been a great person to know and remember.

Justin, you were a great friend, one of my favorite co-workers, and an overall hilarious guy. All of the crazy times at Bud Clary will never be forgotten. Our hearts go out to Amber and Justin's family. You will be missed buddy!

Even though I did not know Justin as an adult, it was very clear at his memorial that he touched the lives of many. I know I will never forget playing on the farm with him when we were kids. From what I've heard, he grew into a great man. My deepest sympathy goes out to you all.

Dear Amber,Susie,Jim and David....
What a wonderful testament to who Justin was by the nearly 800 people who came to his memorial. He truly was one of the sweetest, kindest kids I have ever known and it was a privilege to have gotten to share just a small portion of his life. I too pray that your wonderful expressions of faith get you through the rest of the time, however long, in this old system and that you continue setting such fine examples for the rest of us in Jehovah's service....
