Karl Friedrich Bergmann

I started working for Dr Bergmann in 1979. He was quite the boss. His knowledge of medicine and his way of teaching it to others was astounding. We became, not only boss - employee, we became friends. I could always go to him when things weren't right, he always knew when something was wrong. He had a favorite saying for me. He always said it in German, but I knew the english translation, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree". He was talking about my daughter and how much alike her...

Karl was and will always be a friend of mine. It was a privilege to know Karl.

Anyone that knew Karl would know of his intelligence and zest for life.

We were about thirty years apart in age, but Karl acted and seemed younger than me at times.

I was at Karl's home, doing work on the morning of his stroke. It was, and still is, one of the saddest days of my life. At that time, Karl ws taken from us way too early ... all the stories ... the soft spoken guy was...

Karl was a great gentleman. He will be missed.I enjoyed my professional relationship with him throughout his days at DeGraff Hospital.He was always readily available to go the extra step necessary to make a correct diagnosis.
