Katherine E. (Taurase) Dalton, age 69, of Swampscott, died Monday August 30, 2010, at Salem Hospital, where she was surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Frederick Dalton. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Purcello) Taurase. She was a graduate of East Boston High School. Katherine had lived in East Boston until moving to Lynn for 6 years and then to Swampscott for the past 32 years. She was a member of the Swampscott senior Center, a Communicant of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Swampscott, and of the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus Valladolid Council #70, Lynn. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by 5 sons; Thomas Dalton and his wife Caroline, of Nottingham, NH, Frederick Dalton and his wife Karen, of Everett, Peter Dalton and his wife Lianne, of Peabody, Robert Dalton and Heidi Pyle, of Merrimac, and Mark Dalton and his wife Audrey, of Exeter, NH, a sister Patricia Pedro, of Swampscott, 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Madeline MacNamara, Rita McMahon, and Nicholas Taurase. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9am from the SOLIMINE LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME 67 OCEAN ST. (RTE1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hour's Wednesday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
