I was shocked and saddened beyond words to hear of the loss of Kyle, your beautiful son. I will forever remember that smiling two year old that I bounced on my knee trying to teach him to talk! Although I did not have the opportunity to watch him grow up, I have the memories of him as a precious little one who always brightened my day.

I did not know your son, I do know he served our country and his life was short and my prayers are with the family at this time.He gave his life to keep us all safe.

Fort Bliss soldier Spc. Kyle P. Stoeckli, 21, of Moseley, Va., died Saturday from injuries sustained when his unit was attacked with a bomb in Maiwand, Afghanistan.Stoeckli was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division.
