Larry D. Smith Larry Donnell Smith, 57, husband of Rolando M. Smith, of January Drive, Waynesboro, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Smith was born on October 11, 1955, in Natchez, Mississippi, a son of the late Andrew James Sr. and Sarah (Williams) Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of the Staunton Salvation Army Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed with Virginia Castone as a shipping supervisor. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a daughter, Fanchelle Smith; and a brother, Samuel Smith. Surviving in addition to his wife of 14 years are two sons, Larry "L.J." Smith Jr. of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and LaQuin Torian of Staunton; four daughters, Londie Smith of Houston, Texas, LaTasha Simon of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Angelique "Mikki" Smith of Houston, Texas, and Shemico "Nikki" Williams of New Orleans, Louisiana; three brothers, the Reverend Sam Baker and wife, Cynthia, of Desthran, Louisiana, Andrew Smith Jr. of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Archie Smith of Dillon, South Carolina; three sisters, Beatrice Marshall of Hopewell, Virginia, Sarah Jones and husband, Albert, of Vidalia, Louisiana, and Willia Mae Basley of Ferriday, Louisiana; his mother-in-law, Katie M. Davis of Staunton; and 10 grandchildren also survive. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 744 Moose Lodge Road, Vidalia, Louisiana, by the Reverend Christopher Robinson. Burial will follow in the Natchez National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013, in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
