Not sure what to say?

My name is Jennie Davis. I worked with Laura from 1983 - 1987 in Hickory, NC. Just found this today and I know it has been a long time, but in case anyone reads this I wanted you to know how special Laura was to me. She really taught me how to be a nurse. I always say that when I talk about my nursing career. I was a new grad on the oncology unit and she was the charge nurse on the med surgical floor just outside the unit. She was my go to person. A great woman, mentor, teacher, friend.. we...

Dear Family,
I found this recently, i worked with Laura, when i was a new graduate nurse at the memorial hospital in danville, in 1976-many of us remember her fondly as a great friend and mentor. I was saddened to see this. My condolences to the family.

My mom was a great example of truth, love, charity, and fun. I miss you mom. I am grateful to know where you are and what you are doing, and that is helping others with a twist of laughter on the other side. I can hardly wait to see you again. I'm grateful to know that we are eternal, and so is my love for you. See you soon. Love, Janai

Oh Skipp,

I am so sorry about losing your mom. I am hoping that you are well and happy and that you will have wonderful memories of her. Thinking of you often and with love and affection.

I first met Laura in 1967 when we were both nurses @ Winslow Hospital. We became friends right away. Worked there 2 yrs. Then we both worked @ Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, NC. Laura worked there for a short while & she left. I lost track of her then. Ive often thought of her wondering where she was after leaving Danville. She was a good nurse/person. I thought of her often and felt sorry in my heart when I saw her obit in the paper. May the Lord comfort you her family. I know you...

Skip, I lost my mother on April 3, and saw the notice about your mother while looking online. My deepest sympathies, I know it is a hard time to bear. I keep in touch with Michael Chaney every so often, it would be great to meet up in NYC sometime. Again, my deepest condolences, and hope you are comforted in your most precious memories at this time.

Laura has been my best friend since we met almost 40 years ago. I have missed her since her illness robbed us of our fun times together. She is the kindest, most caring, funny person I have had the privilege to know. At last she is free from this world and I so very much look forward to seeing her again. My thoughts and prayers are with you three children and her grandchildren. She cherished all of you. Linda Law (Clark), Danville

Skipp, Janalyn and Janai, we are so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. Our love and prayers are with you. The pictures are a wonderful tribute to a lifetime of love.
We love you,
