Not sure what to say?

One of my favorite memories of Lester was playing softball with him. I wasn't very good at it. Les was our pitcher. One time when I went up to bat, Les said "Just stick the bat out there, I'll hit the bat. Just hold it there." Of course, this was followed by that special laugh of his.

Torrey will be greatly missed.

At the beach, Lester style. With oldest daughter Victoria, January 10, 2011

It is still hard to put into words how much I miss my dad. I was blessed to be able to see him quite a bit even with me living in Alaska and he in Florida. We took his new Mercury across the state to see his brother Jerry and wife Diane in January. He was a fighter to the end. An extremely generous man he will be missed by many. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein always reminded me that giving made dad happy.

I was fortuate to be able to spend quite a bit of time with my father. This picture was taken Jan10, 2011 in Ft. Meyer by Diane and Jerry Torrey.

We were friends and former neighbors of Les for 55 years. We drove up to Alaska with him and his granddaughter to see his daughter, Vickie, and her family who live in Alaska. On another trip, Les as a retired Warrant Officer gained entrance for us to a U.S. Frigate that was docked in the bay of Malaga, Spain. We went on a Florida trip and cruise with Carol and Les. Ralph and Les went to the Boundary Waters. Ralph worked for the city for over 30 years so we saw Les often including...

Dear Vicki, Lisa and Terry - I send you my love and sympathy at the loss of your dad. I have many fond memories of the years we lived under the same roof on Park Avenue. The Torrey's were a very inclusive family - if you knew one of them you knew all of them. It's hard to imagine what everyone looks like these 50 years later. Children and grandchildren - it boggles my mind. Thank God for all those memories.

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.
