“There's one more thing, which I forgot to share in my homily at Lucy's vigil service. Lucy shared her middle name with my mother, and for that matter, with my sister. She's the first "Mae" I have met beyond my family, and that adds to my feeling of connection to her as well as fond memories of my hard-working, determined and caring mother.
“We are sorry to hear of the passing of your loving wife and Mom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you through this very sad time.

“Dear Dave, so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. From the comments that are posted she was truly a gifted person. Keith Nordeen De La Salle-class of 1972
“After attending Lucy's funeral mass today and looking down from the choir loft, I felt like we all learned a lesson in how we should live our lives: like Lucy, who loved unconditionally, richly, and left the world a better place for her having been on this earth. Our hearts go out to her family and husband, John, for your loss. What an incredible lady.
“I will always have sweet memories of your very special mother. She was such a gem to everyone. I wish I could have been at Incarnation today to honor her life. Her smile is unforgettable. All my love, Jane
“John and family - I was stunned to hear at mass last night Lucy had passed away. Seeing the two of you, a true example of love and devotion to each other, has always been an inspiration to me. Lucy greeted everyone with such warmth and loved sharing stories of family events. Oh, she treasured each of you so deeply. I pray you will continue to feel her embrace, guidance, and protection from the angel she now is in heaven.
“Dear Dotray family, you will all be remembered in our prayers here at Sinsinawa Mound and I will place Lucy's name on our special prayer list this week during our retreat here at our Dominican Motherhouse. I have many fond memories of working with her at events at both Incarnation and Regina. May God bless you and provide for you in the days ahead. Love and prayers, Sr. Susanne McDonald (former teacher at Regina and Incarnation and parish member)
“Lucy, was the kindest woman. With a ready hug and glint in her eye. Not only will I miss her kind works and words, but so will my two kids Mike and Mary as they thought she was the kindest lady they have ever met. Bless you all Dotray family. John I shall miss seeing her at your side. Now she is truly a part of all our hearts. ps. she always called me Peggy.
We are so very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
