Guest Book

Among other things, Miss Garner taught "Readings from Kantian Ethics and the Bhagavad Gita" at Sweet Briar College. It was one of the few A's I eked out during my four years on campus. I could listen to her forever, and she made me want to be a better person. Her humorous, humble demeanor made her one of my favorite professors. Her example is a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. I'm grateful to have known such a remarkable woman.

I remember Miss Garner very fondly from my years at SBC. She was always a gracious lady while being an excellent teacher. I was rather self-absorbed in those years, unfortunately- reading her obituary, I wish I had taken the time to get to know her better when I had the chance. She did some amazing things! I wish blessings for her family. Jane Momberger SBC '81

We have lost a dear, dear "friend"!
Mary Brown Watt Messer - Class of 1983

My condolences to Miss Garners family. She was such a lovely southern lady and I am very fortunate to have attended two of her classes at SBC. She was a wonderful teacher and friend to all. Rest in peace Miss Garner

You touched our lives in a positive way and left sweet memories of great times at SBC for us. I am grateful to have studied Religion with you.

I was lucky enough to take a comparative non western religions course with Miss Garner. It turned out to be one of my favorite courses while at Sweet Briar. Thank you Miss Garner for sharing your vast
knowledge, for not letting me slide and for a terrific sense of humor! God Bless you, Vickey Richter, SBC 1980

RIP Miss Garner. You were a special part of my experience at Sweet Briar College. I enjoyed every class that you taught and listening to your distinctive, cheery voice.

My condolences to Miss Garner's family. It was a priviledge to have been taught about Biblical matters by her at SBC. I remember her as vivacious and enthusiastic with a great sense of humor, a radiant smile, and a twinkle in her eyes. I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about her interesting life from the obituary posted.

Rest in Peace Miss Garner! And my condolences to her family, I remember her well from my years at Sweet Briar, though I never took any classes with her. Beverley Heffernan, SBC Class of '75.
