Margaret Olley

Obituary

SYDNEY (AP) - Margaret Olley, one of Australia's most beloved artists who was renowned for her still-life paintings, has died. She was 88.

Susanne Briggs, spokeswoman for the Art Gallery of New South Wales, says Olley was found dead Tuesday in her Sydney home. Many of Olley's paintings are displayed at the gallery.

Olley was born in Lismore, New South Wales, on June 24, 1923. An art teacher noticed her talent when she was a young student at a girls' boarding school in Brisbane, and encouraged Olley's parents to send their daughter to art school. Olley eventually became one of the country's most lauded still-life painters.

Olley was widely praised not just for her work, but for her philanthropy and generosity.

Not sure what to say?

As an Olley descendant am sorry not to have met you -there are many artists in your family who will have been inspired by you, including my nephew

To one who will be missed. I left my visit to late. Never leave your visits go. Love you Love your beautiful works will miss you.

Painting is a way to express our feelings, and to enjoy the creations of God. Margaret enjoyed Gods beauty and put it done on canvas for everyone else to enjoy. But one thing we can remember is “God cares for us (1Peter5:7)” and will be there in our time of distress. We will miss her dearly,

May the God of all comfort help you during this time of great sorrow. May she be fondly remembered by all.

The brush may be still, but the paintings and the remembrance remains. may your hearts soon be filled with happy memories of times spent together as you celebrate a life well-lived. May the God of tender mercies comfort you and strengthen you at this difficult time.
2 Cor 1:3,4

It is commforting to know that God loves us. May the family and fans remember that during this time of grief!(1 john 4:19)

I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Margaret. May all those she left behind find comfort in the wonderful memories she shared.
"Can you see with your minds eye,
People dwelling to together?
Sorrow has passed. Peace at Last!
Life without tears or pain.
In those days old will grow young,
flesh revived as in childhood.
Troubles are gone; from now on.
No need to weary or fear.
Paradise all will enjoy.
As we sing to God's glory.
Long...

"May the God of tender mercies and the God of comfort be with you all. " 2 Cor 1:3,4 I am sorry for your loss. The day will come in which her beautiful art will reflex this wholewide world for mankind.-

My sympathy to friends and family of Ms. Margaret Olley. After reading her obituary, it seemed she was a dear lady who not only loved the beauty of the creation but also others who shared this beautiful earth along with her. She was noted as having unselfish concern for others who may have been in need. She will be amazed and delighted to be resurrected to a beautiful, restored earth where she will be restored to the days of her youthful vigor. Job 33:25.
