“Seattle will remember and honor Dr. Goodloe-Johnson on January 10th at a Memorial to be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
“I will always remember her love for the children. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting and visiting with her mother who told me of the wonderful children she raised. Maria and her mother both graduated from the same high school in Omaha, Nebraska as my mother did. Maria was the kindest person and loved and appreciated by so many of us. God bless you always.
“It was an honor to work under her leadership while I was teaching in the Charleston County Public School System. She worked tirelessly to ensure academic success for every child. I was mortified to hear of her passing. But, her legacy will live on through the lives of thousands of children across this country. God Bless and keep her family,
