Martha O'Dell Obituary
Nashville, Tennessee - Martha Claire Ward O'Dell, age 86, departed this life on January 12, 2020. She was born on December 4, 1933, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Jack Lewis Ward, Sr. and Jessie Williams Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jack Lewis Ward, Jr., William Bryan Ward and Henry Ray Ward. Martha is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas W. O'Dell; children, Deborah O'Dell Fisher and her husband, Curtis C. Fisher, Thomas E. (Ed) O'Dell and his wife, Margaret Joyce (Joy) Heath O'Dell and Virginia Ellen O'Dell Bloomfield and her husband, Richard Lee Bloomfield; grandchildren, John Clark O'Dell and Elizabeth Helen O'Dell; siblings, Patricia (Patsy) Ward Burnette, Thomas Michael Ward and James Richard "Ricky" Ward and numerous nieces and nephews. Martha was a proud 1953 graduate of Litton High School. She attended services regularly at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Martha was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 from Lindsley Hall at Mount Olivet Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior.

I was lucky to have spent many Christmas holidays with Ellen O'Dell Bloomfield and her wonderful family in Nashville. Mrs. O'Dell is the mother I would have wanted for myself, if we could have a choice. I will miss Mrs. O'Dell on my visits to Nashville as well as from afar in New Jersey.
